Overview

Rakuten is an affiliate marketing platform that allows advertisers to track and manage partnerships with publishers. Rockerbox integrates with Rakuten to track affiliate marketing touchpoints and spend.

Setup Instructions

  1. Enable the Rakuten integration under Data > Digital Advertising by clicking “Connect New Account”
  2. In Rakuten’s platform:
    • Go to Reports > Reporting
    • Build a New Report with the required fields listed below
    • Schedule a Daily report to deliver the previous 1 day of data to the Rockerbox SFTP endpoint
    • The endpoint information can be found under Data > Advertising Platforms
    • Navigate to the platform tile and select “Instructions”
  3. To track clicks, apply the following UTM parameters to your landing pages:
    • utm_source = rakuten or utm_medium = rakuten
    • utm_campaign
    • utm_term
    • Make sure to apply Rakuten’s ranEAID parameter which enables publisher level reporting
  4. Confirm that tracking is applied to all your ads using the Advertising Platform page

Report Requirements

All spend reports must align with the standard report delivery requirements:
  1. Files should be sent on a daily cadence
  2. Each file should contain the previous day’s data
  3. Reports must contain the columns exactly as noted below, including capitalization & spacing

Required Report Fields

  • Transaction Date
  • Publisher ID
  • Publisher Name
  • Total Commission
  • Publisher Encrypted ID

Notes

  • The Rockerbox team will QA the data once reporting is set up to ensure all touchpoints are being tracked as expected
  • Spend does not include % sales
