Overview

Rockerbox’s AdRoll integration enables automatic daily spend ingestion and tracking parameter application for your AdRoll advertising campaigns.

Setup Process

  1. Visit the Advertising Platforms page in your Rockerbox account
  2. Find AdRoll in the list of platforms
  3. Click “Connect” and follow the authentication steps to enable daily spend ingestion

URL Parameters

Parameter Configuration

  • Apply Rockerbox URL parameters to all ads
  • Parameters use macros that are dynamically filled by AdRoll
  • Follow AdRoll’s guide for editing campaign landing pages
  • URLs should follow Rockerbox’s structure guidelines

Available Dynamic Macros

AdRoll supports these dynamic macros:
  • {{campaign_id}} - Campaign ID
  • {{ad_id}} - Ad ID
  • {{placement_id}} - Placement ID
  • {{segment_id}} - Segment ID

HTML5 Creatives

For AdRoll’s HTML5 creatives (found by filtering Ad Library to ‘Web’ type):
  • Apply specific URL parameters for HTML5 format
  • Ensure proper macro implementation
  • Test tracking parameter population

Impression Tracking

  • Impression tracking pixels cannot be added directly in the AdRoll UI
  • Contact your AdRoll representative to implement impression tracking pixels
  • Provide them with the Rockerbox-specific impression tracking code

Implementation Steps

  1. Configure URL Parameters
    • Add parameters to all active ads
    • Use AdRoll’s dynamic macros
    • Test parameter population
  2. Set Up Impression Tracking
    • Work with AdRoll representative
    • Implement tracking pixels
    • Verify pixel firing

Verification

The day after launch:
  1. Visit the Advertising Platform page
  2. Verify that tracking (URL parameters and impression pixels) is applied to all ads
  3. Check that spend data is being imported correctly
  4. Review QA documentation for detailed verification steps

Multiple Accounts

If you manage multiple AdRoll accounts:
  • Each account needs separate authentication
  • Complete the “Add Authorization” steps for each account
  • This ensures comprehensive spend reporting across all accounts

Troubleshooting

If tracking is not appearing on specific ads:
  1. Verify URL parameters are correctly implemented
  2. Confirm impression pixels are properly placed
  3. Check that macros are populating correctly
  4. Contact your AdRoll representative for assistance with impression pixel implementation
