Overview

Rockerbox’s Snapchat integration provides comprehensive tracking capabilities, including both click and view-based touchpoints, along with automatic spend data import.

Setup Instructions

  1. Go to the Advertising Platforms page in your Rockerbox account
  2. Find and select Snapchat from the list of available platforms
  3. Click “Connect” to start the authentication process
  4. Complete the authentication process to allow Rockerbox to ingest your daily spend data

URL Parameters

Story Ads

  • Cannot be edited at the URL level
  • Must be set up in the creative library before assignment to an ad set
  • Edit tracking parameters in the creative library

Catalog Ads

  • URL parameters can be appended within the Catalog
  • Add parameters to the link attribute
  • Include parameters before uploading catalog or ingesting feed

Available Dynamic Parameters

Snapchat supports these dynamic parameters:
  • {campaign.id} - Campaign ID
  • {campaign.name} - Campaign Name
  • {adset.id} - Ad Set ID
  • {creative.id} - Creative ID
  • {ad.id} - Ad ID

Parameter Implementation

  1. Add parameters to the appropriate location based on ad type:
    • Story Ads: Creative library
    • Catalog Ads: Product feed or catalog settings
  2. Follow Rockerbox’s URL structure guidelines
  3. Ensure proper parameter encoding
  4. Test tracking before launching campaigns

View-Based Tracking

Rockerbox has a direct partnership with Snapchat that enables:
  • Daily log-level feed of ad impressions
  • Email-based user matching between Snapchat and Rockerbox
  • 7-day click / 1-day view attribution window
  • View and click-based reporting in all UI views

Requirements for View-Based Tracking

  1. Conversion data must include email addresses that are either:
    • Unhashed
    • Hashed using SHA-256 algorithm
  2. Impression data is only available going forward after setup
  3. Events without proper identifiers cannot be reported

Verification

After setup:
  1. Check that tracking is applied to all your ads using the Advertising Platforms page
  2. Verify URL parameters are correctly configured
  3. Confirm spend data is being imported
  4. Test view-based tracking if enabled

Multiple Accounts

If you manage multiple Snapchat Ads accounts:
  • Each account needs separate authentication
  • Complete the “Add Authorization” steps for each account
  • This ensures comprehensive spend reporting across all accounts

If you encounter any issues:
  1. Verify your tracking parameters are correctly configured
  2. Check that your Snapchat account has appropriate access
  3. Ensure your authentication is current
