Overview

Rockerbox’s TikTok integration allows you to automatically ingest daily spend data from your TikTok Ads account. The integration also supports view-based tracking through an exclusive direct partnership with TikTok.

Setup Instructions

  1. Navigate to the Advertising Platforms page in your Rockerbox account
  2. Find and select TikTok from the list of available platforms
  3. Click “Connect” to start the authentication process
  4. Complete the authentication process to allow Rockerbox to ingest your daily spend data

URL Parameters

Auto-Params Feature

TikTok supports Rockerbox’s auto-params feature for most ad types:
  • Parameters are automatically added through the TikTok Ads API
  • No manual parameter configuration required
  • Existing UTMs and custom parameters are preserved

Limitations and Exceptions

Auto-params are NOT supported for:
  • ACO (Automated Creative Optimization) ads
  • Ads running through third-party ad servers
For these ad types, manual parameter implementation is required.

Manual Parameter Implementation

For ads that don’t support auto-params:
  1. Add parameters to the URL section in TikTok Ads Manager
  2. Do NOT add tracking to the Third Party Tracking section
  3. Use TikTok’s dynamic parameters:
    • {campaign_id} - Campaign ID
    • {adgroup_id} - Ad Group ID
    • {creative_id} - Creative ID

URL Structure Requirements

  • All URLs must follow Rockerbox’s standard structure guidelines
  • Parameters should be added to the main destination URL
  • Proper URL encoding must be maintained

View-Based Tracking

Rockerbox has an exclusive direct partnership with TikTok that provides view and engagement-based user-level touchpoints for attribution.

Requirements

  • Your conversion data must include either:
    • Phone number (unhashed or SHA-256 hashed)
    • Email address (unhashed or SHA-256 hashed)
  • You must agree to allow Rockerbox to send daily performance reports to TikTok
  • Only one TikTok account per Rockerbox account is supported
  • Currently only available for US advertisers

Verification

After setup:
  1. Check that tracking is applied to all your ads
  2. Verify URL parameters are correctly configured
  3. Test tracking parameters before launching campaigns
  4. Monitor auto-params implementation

Troubleshooting

If tracking is not being applied to specific placements:
  1. Verify if the ad type supports auto-params
  2. Check URL structure compliance
  3. For manual implementation, verify parameter format
  4. Contact Rockerbox support if needed
