Setup Requirements

  2. Super Admin access to your Microsoft Advertising account
  3. Permission to consent to apps accessing your organization’s data

Setup Process

  1. Visit the Advertising Platforms page in your Rockerbox account
  2. Find Microsoft Advertising (Bing) in the list of platforms
  3. Click “Connect” and follow the authentication steps
  4. Log in with your Microsoft work account

URL Parameters

Account-Level Implementation

  1. Add Rockerbox parameters to your Account tracking template
  2. For new templates:
    • Start with {lpurl}? before adding Rockerbox parameters
  3. For existing templates:
    • Use & to separate existing parameters from Rockerbox parameters

Available Dynamic Parameters

Bing supports these dynamic parameters:
  • {campaignid} - Campaign ID
  • {adgroupid} - Ad Group ID
  • {creative} - Creative ID
  • {keyword} - Search keyword (for search campaigns)
  • {matchtype} - Keyword match type (for search campaigns)
  • {placement} - Placement URL (for display campaigns)
  • {network} - Network type

Template Hierarchy

Important notes about tracking template implementation:
  1. Lower-level templates override account-level templates:
    • Campaign level
    • Ad group level
    • Ad level
    • Sitelink Extension level
  2. Either remove lower-level templates or add parameters to each level
If copying from Google Ads:
  1. Remove all Google-specific parameters (starting with g_)
  2. Replace with Bing-specific parameters
  3. Maintain proper URL structure

Verification

After setup:
  1. Check that tracking is applied to all ads using the Advertising Platform page
  2. Verify URL parameters are correctly configured
  3. Confirm spend data is being imported

Troubleshooting

  2. Have your Azure tenant admin:
    • Log into the Azure portal
    • Navigate to user consent settings
    • Select “Allow user consent for apps”
  3. Log into Bing Ads to complete provisioning
